Compact engine design These engines are very compact and efficient, with twin cylinder, SOHC (Single Overhead Camshaft) configuration. The F9.9 features a longer stroke, to give an extra 8°/o engine capacity. The result is more power 'Start-in-gear' protection With this kind of power, a false start can be an uncomfortable experience. But Yamaha's 'Start-in-gear' protection eradicates the worry.
