UNICONFORM MAT EXCEL IN CONFORMABILITY AND TRANSLUCENCY ® Product Benefits UNICONFORM mat is well suited for very complex forms requiring high deformation in closed molding process, and enables excellent translucency in panel applications. • Produced with patented Advantex corrosion resistant E-CR glass by Owens Corning. • Made of continuous filaments randomly oriented and without any binder, synthetic core or stitched yarn. ® Challenging applications • Good drapability and high-stretching provide ease of conformability and deformability to complex contours, while easy splicing and overlapping enable large and complex part design. Improved surface aesthetics • The open mat structure enables a consistent resin distribution throughout the surface, providing a smooth appearance behind the gelcoat. • Excellent panel clarity and translucency is provided by the use of glass material — no synthetic core or stitching. Improved performances • Continuous fibers provide high tensile and flexural performance to the final part. • Lack of organic binder provides improved smoke and fire resistance properties. Corrosion resistance • Excellent corrosion resistance with Advantex Glass compared to standard E-glass: providing longer service life in applications facing corrosion. ® UNICONFORM mat is compatible with unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, polyurethane and epoxy resin systems. ® It is designed for the manufacture of complex shapes, translucent panels and fire-retardant applications in a wide range of industries including recreation, automotive, heavy truck, and commercial buildings. Additional widths are available upon request by your Owens Corning contact.
