Customer Service GENUINE PARTS Get the most from your starter motor Periodically check that the electrical contacts of the starter motor are clean and firmly fastened. If you hear metallic noises or excessive vibration during engine starting, this could be due to some mechanical defects of the starter motor; check with your FPT workshop, and have the starter motor replaced if necessary. Ensure that the starter motor is clean and free of any oil and fuel, in order to prevent the risk of ignition/fire hazards.
