Impeller Replacement

Product catalog summary
Introduction
Jabsco is recognized for its original flexible impeller pumps, offering a wide selection of replacement impellers known for their proven performance. These impellers are suitable for various applications, including engine cooling, bilge, transfer, and general-purpose pumps. Jabsco impellers undergo rigorous quality checks to ensure reliability and longevity.

Impeller Identification and Replacement
Impellers should be replaced at least annually, or more frequently depending on usage. Neoprene impellers are recommended for engine cooling and water transfer, while nitrile impellers are better for bilge pumping and contaminated water transfer. The replacement process involves removing the end cover screws and using a Jabsco Impeller Removal Tool or channel lock pliers. It is crucial to carry spare impellers and grease new ones for easier installation and protection.

Impeller Profiles and Selection
Identifying the correct Jabsco impeller involves checking the pump's data sheet, model number, or using the impeller's physical characteristics. Selection tables by profile and dimensions are provided to assist in identifying the correct part number based on the impeller's profile code, depth, drive type, shaft diameter, and material.

Troubleshooting Guide
The guide addresses common issues such as dry running, cavitation, abrasive wear, chemical attack, and normal wear and tear. Remedies include ensuring proper liquid levels, adjusting plumbing, and replacing impellers as needed. Specific symptoms, causes, and solutions are detailed for each issue to maintain optimal pump performance.
