Overview: The easyRESCUE-DIVEpro is an emergency transmitter designed for divers, providing safety and shelter through two-way communication. It can send a 'closed user report' or an official '
AIS S.A.R.T. Alert'.
Specifications:- Radiated power: 0.5 Watt
- Operation temperature: -20°C to 55°C
- Dimensions: 128 x 76 x 32 mm
- Weight: 380 grams
- Battery lifetime: 10 years
- Battery capacity in 'Alert mode': 45 hours
- Part number: A04006
- SOLAS Certified AIS S.A.R.T. emergency transmitter
- Waterproof to over 100 meters/300 feet
- Integrated GPS receiver with 3-10 meters accuracy
Functionality: The device uses VHF technology to alert diving boats with a standardized emergency call. It provides the diver's exact GPS position, Course Over Ground (COG), and Speed Over Ground (SOG) if drifting. The information updates every minute and is transmitted to AIS-equipped vessels within range.
Usage Procedure: In case of emergency, the diver unfolds the antenna, pushes the slider down, and presses the ALERT button. The device then transmits the GPS position via VHF radio. The range depends on the receiving antenna's height, potentially reaching up to 10 nautical miles.
Regulations and Compatibility: Since 2007, commercial vessels over 300 BRT or with more than 12 crew/passengers must have an AIS system. The number of pleasure boats with AIS is increasing for safer navigation. The easyRESCUE-DIVEpro does not require registration or a personal VHF certificate.
Recommendations: For optimal use, an 'Alert marker buoy' is recommended to fix the unit as high as possible. The transmitter is pre-programmed for specific diving spots and does not require any authority registration.
