This document provides instructions for the use and maintenance of the Para-Snail, a device designed to reduce the effects of a vessel being dragged by a parasail. Its effectiveness depends on weather, water conditions, and proper usage. It is intended for use in high wind conditions following a parasailing vessel malfunction as an anchor aid.
Usage Instructions
1. Pull out the chute and grab it if necessary.
2. Drop the chute into the water and lay the bag on the deck.
3. The line will feed out, and as it goes tight, the chute will start to inflate.
4. Once fully inflated, the vessel will slow significantly.
5. If disconnected, the Para-Snail will stay afloat due to buoys.
Maintenance
Check the Para-Snail annually or after each use for damage to the chute, line, hook, and buoys. Return to the manufacturer for inspection if any damage is found.
Packing Instructions
1. Lay the Para-Snail on the ground and hook the handle to a solid point.
2. Untangle the chute and fold it neatly, passing tapes from left to right hand.
3. Fold the chute in a concertina fashion and pack it into the bag.
4. Ensure the bag is closed properly with the handle out.
Storage
Store the Para-Snail out of the sun in a dry, accessible area near the bow of the vessel.
