WALCONFIBRE CONCRETE FLOATS SPECIFICATIONS Structure: The Walcon Marine fibre concrete float is comprised of expanded polystyrene float core protected by 19mm of glass reinforced concrete and is ideal for use in floating marinas and yacht harbours. Fixings: Four Stainless Steel (grade A4) fixing bolts are cast into the top surface for normal use, although through-bolt connections with timber bearers may be used where the units are expected to take the ground. The fibre concrete floats are produced in steel moulds giving a smooth surface. Durability: The concrete floats are virtually maintenance free, require no anodes and are not attacked by electrolytic action, the effects of marine environment or the ultraviolet rays of sunlight. This form of construction ensures permanent flotation of the pontoon as the polystyrene core material is closed cell, absorbing water up to a maximum of 5% by volume. Walcon's fibre concrete floats have a proven record of more than thirty years satisfactory service with minimal maintenance. TECHNICAL Sizes Most requirements can be met from the standard range of fibre concrete float sizes. For non- standard applications, special sizes can be made to order.
