Approvals ■ VIKING Liferafts are approved according to SOLAS, IMO Res. A1024(26) Guidelines for ships operating in polar waters and Russian Winterization of Liferafts -50°C rules. Certified by DNV, USCG, TC Canada and RMRS. ■ The Hammar® HRU and thermal control box have separate approvals by RMRS for compliance with Russian regulations. ■ The VIKING Polar liferaft is expected to fulfil the new IMO requirements that will become mandatory when approved by the IMO Marine Safety Committee.

Thermal control box Heats two liferafts and ensures reliable function The heating mats inside the containers are attached to a thermal control protected in a control box. The specially designed thermostat box has a separate Russian Maritime Register of Shipping type approval for compliance with Russian regulations. The box is located near the liferafts and keeps the power supply safe. Each box supports 1-2 VIKING Polar liferafts.
