Product catalog summary
Product Description
The ME1958 Multi-End Roving is composed of continuous glass filaments gathered into bundles without mechanical twist, bonded with a silane-based sizing. It is compatible with polyester/vinylester and some polyurethane resins. Made from Advantex® glass fiber, it combines the properties of traditional E-glasses with the corrosion resistance of E-CR glass.

Product Applications
This roving is designed for sheet molding compounds (SMC) in pigmented markets and molds requiring high flow.

Features and Benefits
  • Low static and fuzz
  • Excellent laminate properties
  • First-rate flow characteristics
  • Excellent choppability and sheet density
  • Excellent wetting characteristics

Technical Specifications
  • Linear weight of roving: 4500 g/kg
  • Yield: 110 Yds/Lb
  • Loss on Ignition: 2.25%

Product Availability
Standard doff characteristics include an outside diameter of 350 mm (14 in), height of 26 mm (10.3 in), and net weight of 31 kg (68 lb). Other tex options may be available upon request.

Visual Characteristics
Roving doffs are square-edged, cylindrical packages designed for smooth runout, connected using an 8-way air splice.

Packaging
Each doff is shrink-wrapped and labeled. Pallet dimensions and configurations vary, with specific arrangements for ERO tails.

Labelling
Each doff and pallet has identification labels with product reference, production date, and weights.

Storage Recommendations
  • Store in a cool, dry area, not exceeding 95°F (35°C) and 75% humidity.
  • Avoid stacking pallets more than two high.
  • Allow roving to equilibrate to room conditions before use, ideally at 60-80°F (15-25°C) and 50-70% humidity.
