973 & 973CX1 ENHANCE SURFACE AESTHETICS & PERFORMANCE Product Benefits 973 family of products represents a compelling solution for Sheet Molding Compound (SMC) Class A & semi-structural parts where efficient processing, superior surface finish and mechanical properties are required. • 973 & 973CX1 multi-end rovings are made from Advantex® continuous glass filaments. • These products are compatible with polyester and vinyl-ester resin systems; as well as polyurethane resins used in Long Fiber Injection (LFI) processes. Efficient processability • Proprietary sizing enables optimal processability in both SMC and LFI processes with: low static and fuzz, easy chopping without long fiber cuts, and excellent runnabillty with smooth unwinding. Class A surface finish • Excellent wetting characteristics allow lower sheet density, resulting in Class A surface quality in Low Profile SMC. High mechanical properties • Optimal adherence to the resin matrix, along with excellent wetting characteristics provide enhanced mechanical properties in semi-structural applications. Enhanced service life • Advantex® glass helps fight corrosion, enhancing service life compared to standard E-glass. 973 & 973CX1 products are designed to provide optimal mechanical and aesthetics performance in Low Profile Class A automotive and semistructural heavy truck applications.
