Vacmobile Accessories Manifolds, O-ring sealed connections, vacuum needles, bag penetrations High integrity vacuum manifold The Vacmobile multi-port vacuum manifold is machined from a solid aluminium block. Joints intended to be permanent are sealed and lock-nutted. Joints which may requires access are O-ring sealed. A bracket is provided to allow wall mounting. Various connection options are available, including through-wall mounting from the rear of the manifold. Optional components include swivel mount vacuum gauge, vacuum regulation, coarse internal filter, absolute gauge port, Oring sealed tubing connections and a flexible silicone rubber connection hose. (Refer to RT19 resin trap brochure for information on our silicone hose kit.) O-ring sealed tubing connections and miscellaneous fittings All Vacmobile components are available as individual items. As examples, our O-ring sealed tubing connections can be retrofitted to existing resin trap lids to allow quick and reliable tube fitting without obstructing resin exit from the tube. Connectors are available to suit the following outside diameter tubes: 10 mm (3/8”), 13 mm (1/2”), 16 mm (5/8”) and 19 mm (3/4”). The fittings may be screwed into 3/4” BSPP/NPT threads, or inserted though 27 mm (1 1/16”) diameter holes. There is also a connector which may be threaded into 3/8” BSPP only. Our rugged and easy-to-use vacuum regulation valve is also available as an accessory. This suits 3/4” BSPP/NPT threaded ports. Vacuum regulation valve and O-ring sealed connections Vacuum needle for dry spot repair The vacuum needle can be inserted through the bag film to locally increase the vacuum level in a resin starved area of a composite part. As long as the surrounding resin hasn’t gelled, this will withdraw the air pocket and draw resin into the starved area. The needle may be supplied bare to suit 9.5 mm (3/8”) to 13 mm (1/2”) ID (inside diameter) tubing, or supplied complete with a disposable valve to suit 13 mm (1/2”) ID tubing. Vacmobile Accessories Manifolds, O-ring sealed connections, vacuum needles, bag penetrations Multi-part bag penetration fitting (NOT SUITABLE FOR INFUSION) The multi-part bag fitting is intended for vacuum bag penetrations where liquid resin will not come in contact with the fitting, e.g., when protected by bleeder cloth when vacuum bagging over wet laminate or pre-preg. The multi-part bag fitting is not suited to infusion applications as it is too difficult to clean. The fitting is designed to directly suit 12.7 mm (1/2”) OD tubing.
