Stainless Steel Honeycomb Core

Stainless Steel Honeycomb Core

Product catalog summary
Overview: Stainless steel honeycomb cores are spot welded, providing superior performance and stability compared to adhesively-bonded cores. They are available in various dimensions and functionalities, with cell sizes ranging from 0.8mm to 42mm, and come in diverse shapes such as camber, ring, tape, and other complex patterns.
Applications: The honeycomb cores are used in air, water, and gas flow straighteners and filters, EMI/RF shielding, tables for water jets and laser cutting machines, structural components for aircraft, thrust reversers, exhaust nozzles, aircraft engine seals, and power generation turbine seals.
Materials: Manufacturing materials include copper, titanium alloys, stainless steel, and other high-temperature alloys like Haynes, Hastelloy-X, and Inconel. Foil thicknesses of 0.10mm, 0.13mm, and 0.15mm are available upon request.
Specifications: The maximum sheet size is dependent on cell size and honeycomb thickness. The properties of the honeycomb core are detailed in a table, showing cell sizes, minimum and maximum thicknesses, foil thickness, density, and percentage of open area. The materials used are stainless steel types SS-304, SS-316, and SS-316L, with standard node welding being spot welding. Shapes include rings, segments, contours, steps, and chamfers.
Key Properties:
  • Cell sizes range from 0.8mm to 25.0mm.
  • Minimum thickness varies from 3mm to 50mm, while maximum thickness ranges from 25mm to 450mm.
  • Foil thickness is typically 0.20mm, with density and open area percentages varying based on foil thickness.

Stainless Steel Honeycomb Core-1

Stainless Steel Honeycomb Core Stainless steel honeycomb is spot welded which offers better performance and stability when compared against adhesively-bonded stainless cores. Honeycomb cores of various dimensions and functionalities are available in cell sizes ranging from 0.8mm to 42mm in diverse shapes such as camber, ring, tape, machined honeycomb and other complex patterns. Honeycomb has the following typical applications: • • • • • • Air, water and gas flow straighteners and filters EMI/RF Shielding Tables for water jets & laser cutting machines Structural Honeycomb for Aircraft, thrust reversers, exhaust nozzles, Aircraft Engine Honeycomb Seals Power Generation Turbine Seals The materials we use in manufacturing include copper, titanium alloys, stainless steel and other high temperature alloys (e.g. Haynes, Hastelloy-X and Inconel). Other foil thicknesses 0.10mm, 0.13mm and 0.15mm are also available on request. NOTE: The maximum sheet size depends on the cell size and the honeycomb thickness.
