Product catalog summary
Introduction: The Sea Vision SV37 is a weld-in light designed for aluminum or steel hulls, suitable for installation in the transom or hull. It uses a 250-watt HID metal halide lamp and operates on 110 or 230 volt AC power. The light can be welded at adjustable angles (0 to 50 degrees) to fit various hull shapes, providing a large volume of light through a 98 mm aperture lens. It includes a cofferdam for compliance with classification societies' requirements for secondary containment, primarily targeting larger yachts.

Technical Specifications: The SV37 features a 250-watt HID metal halide lamp with a lifespan of approximately 3,000 hours, producing 20,000 lumens at an 8000 Kelvin color temperature. The borosilicate glass lens is 20mm thick. Power supply options include 120 VAC (2.38 Amps) and 230 VAC (1.15 Amps). The casing is made from aluminum 5036 or stainless steel 316L, with dimensions varying based on the angle of installation.

Installation Guidelines: Recommended installation is at least 10 inches below the waterline, spaced 3-8 feet apart. The light must be welded into the hull following standard shipbuilding practices, ensuring it becomes part of the vessel's grounding and cathodic protection system. High-temperature silicone cable is required between the light and ballast, with standard ship cable used from the ballast to the power supply.

Operating Information: The lamp requires a cooling period of 10-20 minutes after shutdown before restarting. It reaches full brightness in about 2 minutes and should remain on for at least 10 minutes to prevent flickering. The light can be briefly operated out of water but requires water for proper cooling during extended use.

Safety and Maintenance: Regular inspections for moisture and marine growth are recommended every six months. Electrical cabling and ballast should also be checked for proper operation. The light should not be installed or removed while the vessel is in water.

Warranty and Support: The product comes with a two-year warranty against defects, excluding lamps. Misuse, improper installation, or unauthorized modifications void the warranty. Technical support is available through Underwater Lights USA, LLC.

Installation Procedure:
1. Drill an appropriately sized hole in the vessel hull for the Front Flange (22) that accompanies the light. Ensure no electrical wiring, fuel, oil, or water lines are near the hole location.
2. Insert the Front Flange (22) into the hole and weld it in place following standard shipbuilding practices. Keep the block-off disk on until the final assembly.
3. For final assembly, remove the block-off disk, clean surfaces, and install the Glass Gaskets (7), Glass (6), Retaining Flange O-ring (9), and Glass Retaining Flange (2) using eight fasteners (15) tightened in a criss-cross pattern to 9 Nm (7 ft/lbs) with a 5mm allen wrench.
4. Install the Reflector (3), Main Body Gasket (8), and Main Body (1) into the Glass Retaining Flange (2), tightening the Main Body (1) to 40 Nm (30 ft/lbs). Apply anti-seize compound to the threads.
5. Make electrical connections as per the ballast manual, then attach the Projector Lid (5) to the Main Body (1) using six Nuts (19) tightened to 2 Nm (1.5 ft/lbs). Coat the Front Flange (22) with antifouling paint after installation.

Serviceable Parts:
- Lamp Replacement: Remove six Nuts (19) and the Projector Lid (5), replace the Lamp (12) in the Lamp Socket (11), and reassemble. Ensure the new lamp is clean.
- Glass Replacement: Remove eight fasteners (15) and the Glass Retaining Flange (2) with the Main Body (1) and Glass Gaskets (7). Clean surfaces and reassemble with new Glass (6) and Gaskets (7), tightening fasteners in a criss-cross pattern to 9 Nm (7 ft/lbs).
