Trelleborg enhances its LNG track record in China “We needed a reliable solution that would not only stand the test of time, but came with the assurance of high quality aftercare. Due to Trelleborg’s unrivalled reputation and technical qualification, we knew they had the capabilities to meet our expectations and requirements.” Jie Kang, Equipment and Materials Procurement Manager, CNOOC Yuedong LNG Trelleborg Marine Systems was recently contracted by CNOOC Yuedong LNG to supply cargo transfer technology to a new LNG terminal development at Yuedong, China. This project, worth 10.3 billion Yuan, included the development of a new LNG terminal, a new LNG station and new wharfs and pipelines. With the terminal expected to have an annual processing capacity of two million metric tonnes, this was a massive project. Trelleborg Marine Systems supplied the following technologies for the project: Double and Triple Quick Release Hooks with hazardous area compliance Quick Release Hooks (QRH) enable mooring lines to be quickly and easily released, even under full load conditions. SmartHook® Mooring Load Monitoring Systems with electric remote release SmartHook® load monitoring provides jetty operators with real-time readings of the load on mooring lines. This enables them to assess the integrity of the berth and take action as needed. SmartDock® Docking Aid System SmartDock® is a family of docking aid systems (DAS) used by jetty operators and pilots to monitor the approach and docking of berthing vessels. Design is based on lasers, differential GPS or Real Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS technologies. SeaTechnik™ Ship Shore Link (SSL) The SMART fibre optic and SMART Electric SSL systems ensures compatibility for the Emergency Shut Down System (ESDS), Mooring Load Monitor (MLM) data and telecom system between the terminal and visiting vessel which is vital for the LNG transfer process. ”We are delighted that CNOOC has chosen to work with Trelleborg.
