Product catalog summary
Description: The KX series fluid couplings are designed for starting large inertia machines driven by electric motors. They feature a patented fluid circuit with two internal tanks and scoops for bidirectional motor operation.
Main Features:
  • Low stall torque and starting torque limitation below nominal torque.
  • Dynamically balanced with two versions: KXG (gear couplings) and KXD (maintenance-free disc couplings).
  • Greased-for-life bearings with double seals and viton O-rings.
  • Operates with oil, water, or glycol.
  • ATEX certified for gas and dust explosion protection.
  • External impeller as driver, suitable for horizontal installation only.
  • Easy fluid filling with adjustable valves for optimizing starting time.
  • Optional brake disc or drum installation.
Advantages: The KX fluid couplings offer low starting torque and current absorption, isolating the inertia effect of the driven machine. They are suitable for high power and inertia applications like mills and conveyors.
Technical Specifications:
  • Fluid quantity is lower than traditional couplings, allowing low starting torque.
  • Sizes range from 15 to 29, with power ratings from 22 kW to 1000 kW depending on RPM.
  • Moment of inertia and dimensions vary by size and type (KXG or KXD).
Selection Table: Provides detailed specifications for different sizes, including power ratings at various RPMs and dimensions for gear and disc couplings.
Contact Information: Lists contact details for Transfluid offices in China, France, UK, USA, and North Europe.
Other Products: Includes information on other Transfluid products like K, KSL, KPT series fluid couplings, BM-B3M series flexible couplings, NBG-TFDS series brakes, and TP series pneumatic clutches.

FLUID COUPLINGS KX series DESCRIPTION The KX is a fluid coupling with a special patented fluid circuit designed to start up large inertia machines driven by electric motors. The circuit includes two internal tanks connected by two scoops allowing bidirectional motor operation. STILL (STATIONARY) The scoop works like a differential pump transferring fluid from one chamber to the other and finally into the coupling working fluid circuit through external adjustable valves. This double passage allows a long starting time with very low starting torque and current absorbtion by the electric motor,...
