Fly-By-Wire (engine and rudder remote control)

Fly-By-Wire (engine and rudder remote control)

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides technical specifications and functionalities of the TECNAUTIC Fly-By-Wire (FBW) engine and rudder remote control system, designed for single and twin-engine vessels. It highlights the system's capabilities in engine control, rudder and thruster control, and docking mode.
Engine Control: The system offers throttle and shift control suitable for both mechanical and electronic engines and gearboxes, supporting up to eight stations. Key features include trolling valve, docking mode, synchronizer, start, stop, warm-up functions, and a fishing mode with auto-throttle speed control.
Rudder and Thruster Control: The FBW Steering Wheel simplifies steering with gyro stabilization and a consistent turning radius. The system automatically utilizes bow and stern thrusters in docking mode for boats with shafts. For vessels with individually steered stern or pod drives, docking mode is available without thrusters.
Docking Mode: This mode simplifies close-quarter maneuvering by allowing intuitive control through throttle or toggle movements. It provides significant maneuvering power, enabling the vessel to counteract side winds or currents and move in any direction. The booster function maximizes available power for challenging situations.
Technical Specifications: The system includes a FADEC-Box for connecting mechanical actuators or directly interfacing with electric or electronically controlled engines and gearboxes. The throttle or shift actuator is designed for mechanically operated engines, offering a torque of 200 ins.lbs. (22 Nm) and a pulling force of 90 lbs. (400 N).
Conclusion: The TECNAUTIC FBW system enhances vessel control through advanced software and individually steerable drive units, translating driver inputs into precise steering, gear shifts, clutch pressure, and throttle positions.

Fly-By-Wire (engine and rudder remote control)-1

Single and Twin engine Fly-By-Wire station Throttle and shift control for single and twin en- gine vessels. Suitable for mechanical and electron- ic engines and gear boxes. Up to eight stations Several functions are included: trolling valve and docking mode, synchronizer, start-, stop- and warm- up function, plus fishing mode with auto-throttle speed control. A Fly-By-Wire Steering Wheel makes steering easier than driving a car. Turning is gyro stabilized, and so is the turning radius. Avoiding traffic be- comes a snap. Putting the wheel in its center detent will draw a straight line on your plotter. On boats with shafts, installed bow- and stern- thrusters are used automatically in docking mode. With two individually steered stern or pod drives, the docking mode becomes available without thrust- Forget complicated shift, throttle and steering- wheel combinations in close-quarter maneuvering. Simply move the throttle or toggle in the direction you want your boat to move, or rotate the FBW-wheel. You can do all your slow-speed driving in Dock- ing Mode. Much easier than the traditional way! The Docking Mode utilizes your existing stern or pod drives, or even works with a single shaft and thrusters installed. You get massive maneuvering power to master a side wind or current and move in any direction. And in especially tricky situations, the booster function gives you all available power. Push the toggle to port or starboard and your boat goes sideways. Even "impossible" berths are now acces- The secret behind the amazing moves is the Tec- nautic FBW-system with its individually steerable drive units. Sophisticated and specially developed software in the FADEC system transforms the driv- er's movements into steering angles, gear shifts, clutch pressure and throttle positions. The boat moves exactly according to the driver's intentions.
