2. Functional Elements

The regulator includes connectors for solar panels, batteries (one or two depending on model), and load output. LED indicators display battery charge levels with color codes: green (71-100% full), yellow (31-70% normal), red (21-30% discharged), and blinking red (0-20% empty). The charge current LED indicates charging activity and modulation status. Load LED indicates battery condition and load status.

3. Assembly

Mounting instructions include using a drilling template for precise screw placement. The regulator should be mounted securely with screws, leaving the top screws partially inserted initially to hang the device before tightening all screws. The device is designed for direct battery connection and supports solar panels up to 140W and loads up to 12A.

4. Electrical Connection

Remove fuses before wiring.
Connect battery 1 cable; for FOX-300, a second fuse is used.
Optionally connect battery 2 (FOX-300 only).
Optionally connect load (max 12A).
Connect solar panel(s).
Reinsert fuse(s).

Important: When two batteries are connected (FOX-300), their negative poles must be directly connected.

5. Functional Control

Upon fuse insertion, the system voltage setting is indicated by yellow LED blink codes on battery LEDs: one blink for 12V, two blinks for 24V. This confirms correct system voltage before operation.

6. Indicator Interpretation

Battery State LEDs: Green (full), Yellow (normal), Red (discharged), Red blinking (empty).
Charge Current LED: Off (no current), On (charging), Blinking (battery nearly full, PWM active).
Load LED (FOX-300): On indicates battery empty and load off; Off indicates normal battery and load on.

For FOX-300, the LED of the battery currently being charged twinkles every 5 seconds.

8. System Voltage Change

The system voltage can be changed from the factory default 12V to 24V by opening the regulator and removing a resistor from a 5-pin socket (ST1_SC-05) located on the main PCB. Care must be taken not to damage LED sockets when removing the cover. The presence of the resistor indicates 12V operation; its removal sets the regulator to 24V.

Critical Warnings and Recommendations

Always verify system voltage on the display before connecting solar modules to avoid damage.
When using two batteries (FOX-300), connect their negative poles directly.
Ensure fuses are removed before wiring and reinserted after connections are complete.
Maximum solar panel power is 140W; maximum load current is 12A.

Funktionskontrolle Unmittelbar nach Einstecken der Sicherung wird die eingestellte Systemspannung über Blinkcodes der Ladezustandsanzeige(n)-LED(s) angezeigt. Systemspannungsänderung Die werksseitig eingestellte Systemspannung beträgt 12V. Diese kann bei Bedarf auf 24V umgestellt werden. Hierzu muß der Regler geöffnet werden. Achten Sie beim Abnehmen des Gehäusedeckels darauf die Anzeige-LED`s nicht aus ihren Sockeln zu ziehen. Ziehen Sie den Widerstand aus dem Stecksockel, der Regler ist somit auf 24V Systemspannung eingestellt. (Siehe Grafik unten). Der zugehörige 5-polige Stecksockel (ST1_SC-05) befindet sich rechts oben auf der Reglerhauptplatine. mit Widerstand = Systemspannung 12V ohne Widerstand = Systemspannung 24V

General information This installation manual is valid for: FOX-100, FOX-200 and FOX-300. Thus the following illustrations may diverge from the enclosed device. Please read these operating instructions carefully, before operating the charge controller! Warnings: 1) Immediately after switching on the charge controller and prior to connecting the solar modules, check the system voltage on the display.
