Product catalog summary
Overview of STADT AS:
STADT AS, founded by Hallvard L. Slettevoll in 1985, is located in Gjerdsvika, Norway. The company specializes in integrated electric propulsion systems, focusing on sustainability, reliability, and partnership. In 2015, STADT celebrated its 30th anniversary and moved into the new STADT Maritime Center.

Product Offerings:
STADT offers a range of products including MSB MV and LV power management systems, STASCHO drives, AC motors, and transformers. Their flagship product, the STADT STASCHO, is a patented no-loss AC drive technology.

Technological Innovations:
STADT has developed innovative inverter series since 1997, with a focus on compact design and direct water cooling. The STADT STASCHO, launched in 2008, is based on sinus control technology, offering significant advantages over traditional PWM technology by eliminating electric disturbances and reducing system losses to 6%.

Sustainability and Efficiency:
The STADT STASCHO technology reduces fuel consumption by up to 60%, minimizes NOx, SOx, and CO2 emissions, and offers a highly reliable system with an estimated lifetime of over 25 years. It provides sinusoidal voltage and current, ensuring low harmonic disturbances.

Market and Applications:
STADT's products are used in diesel-electric main propulsion of ships, offshore applications, and industrial use. Notable clients include TFDS - Hurtigruten, Geo Shipping, PGS, Sanco Shipping, Aker, Statoil, Hydro, BP, and Bayer AG.

Services and Solutions:
STADT provides engineering, manufacturing, commissioning, and global services. Their solutions include LNG-electric, diesel-electric, hybrid-electric, and battery-electric systems.

Key Advantages:
  • No transformers or filters required
  • No total harmonic distortion (THD)
  • No electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues
  • Reduced maintenance with high redundancy
  • Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF): 7 years
  • Mean Time To Repair (MTTR): 2 hours

The STADT Group was founded by Hallvard L. Slettevoll back in 1985. In December 2015- the 30th anniversary was celebrated. At the same time the group moved in to the new and modern STADT Maritime Center in Gjerdsvika. With a location in the middle of the maritime cluster on the west coast of Norway, the aim has always been to develop power inverters for ship applications. In 1997, after several years of intensive developments, an innovative and very modern inverter series was launched. A major advantage of these inverters, was the very compact design due to direct water cooling. The first STADT...
