New Treatment for Longer Rope Life and Higher Load Holding RP25 is a new surface coating that very effectively protects the critical parts of any line from abrasion damage. Independent testing has shown that coating in RP25 impregnates the rope cover and core giving significant gains in a working life and grip, without reducing flexibility ofthe rope. RP25 treated line is particularly recommended for use with all Spinlock rope holding equipment for its effectiveness in optimising ultimate load holding performance. Typical Chafe Points RP25 has been successfully tested on several high profile campaigns during Summer 2004, including Open 60s Ecover and Skandia and the Farr 52, Bear Of Britain. A number of Vendee Globe Open 60 teams have treated critical lines at the areas where abrasion can occur, eg: mast sheaves, foot blocks, clutches, genoa cars, mast exits, lazy jacks, steering cables and furling lines. Reduces risk of critical rope failure at chafe points Increases ultimate load holding power, on any size of rope, without increasing its diameter. Significantly improves performance and life for softer ropes. RP25 Rope Holding % Gain RP25's unique formula is the result ofextensive private research and development in conjunction with a leading European University. During its two-year testing programme, it has very significantly outperformed every known urethane-based or other production coating for abrasion protection and grip enhancement. Rigger Service RP25 is available only in 5 litre Rigger packs from Spinlock national distributors. It can safely be applied to any synthetic fibre rope and is fully compatible with ropemakers' urethane coatings. RP25 is easily applied by brush to selected areas of a clean and dry line. Full details ofthe application method and health & safety advice are given in the instructions provided with the Rigger Pack RP25 is best applied on land and should be left for a minimum of 24 hours to dry and cure.
