Installation and Cost Efficiency
CompassNet is the first to use Ethernet technology in heading management systems, reducing installation complexity and cost. It simplifies operational performance and enhances reliability and safety, with fewer connections needed for additional equipment.

Performance Features
The system offers improved redundancy and resilience, reducing hardware functionality in multi-gyrocompass systems. It includes a Data Distribution Unit (DDU) with processor boards, a Control and Display Unit, and heading sensors. Integration with the NAVITWIN V control and display unit allows connection of up to five heading sensors.

Efficiency and Functionality
The NAVITWIN V unit displays and monitors up to five heading sources, offering functions like heading source selection and alarm management. It features a 4.3” color display and can support additional CDUs for redundancy.

Data Distribution Unit (DDU)
The DDU interfaces with navigation equipment and offers features like comfortable housing for easy installation, processor boards for redundancy, and emergency controls.

Configuration Options
CompassNet supports various configurations, including single to quad sensor systems and integration with other manufacturers' compasses. Future enhancements include optional Ethernet modules and 6 Step/module interfaces.

Type-Approved Performance
The CompassNet system and NAVITWIN V are type-approved under the Marine Equipment Directive (MED) 96/98/EC.
