The MINI-17 marine engine is a 2-cylinder, in-line diesel engine manufactured by Mitsubishi. It operates on a 4-stroke cycle with a naturally aspirated intake system. The engine has a bore and stroke of 76 mm x 70 mm, a total displacement of 635 cc, and a compression ratio of 23:1. It delivers an intermittent power of 16.0 CV (11.8 kW) and a continuous power of 14.0 CV (10.6 kW) at a maximum RPM of 3600. The engine features a mechanical and indirect injection system, a 12 V starter motor, and a 75 A alternator.
