The SoelCat 12 is a 12m trailblazing energy autonomous solar electric catamaran. It brings true eco-tourism to water bound resorts, lagoons, nature reserves and reefs. The SoelCat 12 combines comfort, performance, safety and spaciousness in the most sustainable vessel available on the market. The electric boat and its technology accomplishes the highest safety ratings in every category and benefits from our experience with ocean-going solar electric systems for more than 11 years and more than 400.000 nm on the open ocean - which equals a solar electric journey of more than 18 times around...

INTEGRAL DESIGN Every aspect of the SoelCat 12 is integrally designed for electric propulsion and contributes towards its high efficiency. From a dedicated hull design for electric propulsion, to a smart and safe lithium energy storage system, which is superior when it comes to power density and system weight.

We believe sustainability does not exclude efficiency and great performance! The 5-star SoelCat 12 can achieve a maximum speed of 14 knots. At a cruising speed of 8 kts the vessel accomplishes a range of 60 nm on battery power only. Once the sun starts to shine the vessel’s cruising speed of 8kts is prolonged to 8 hours. Lowering the speed to 6,5 kts results in a 24-hour range.

HIGH POWER 120 kWh marine grade lithium polymer batteries form the rock solid backbone, including all safety features. 8.6 kWp lightweight ocean proof solar panels are part of the design and boost an efficiency of 22.5%.

GRID FEEDING When the SoelCat 12 is not in use for electric sailing, it is capable of generating return of investment. The vessel then becomes a mobile power station, which is able to feed energy back into the grid or provide power at places where no grid is available. The SoelCat 12 is capable of providing 15 kVA of invert power, which is enough to supply electricity for up to four households. MOBILE POWER STATION

MAINTENANCE With only one moving part, the solar electric propulsion system is basically maintenance free compared to conventional powered boats. For service feedback we developed a user interface system, the so called ‘Naval UI’. The readout system can present all relevant system data to us from all around the world. In addition to that we work with local service partners, who can provide service on hand, if needed.
