General Performance The 15Te SWL Axial Umbilical Winch is typically used for
ROV LARS applications and is designed to Lloyds standards. It operates in safe areas or Zone II environments. The winch has a line pull of 21.7Te on the bottom layer and 15Te on the top layer. The winch speed ranges from 39m/min to 60m/min, depending on the layer and available hydraulic power. It can operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +45°C and has an umbilical capacity of 41.2mm (typical) up to 4300m.
Deck Mounting
The winch is mounted using a transport mounting twist lock with four deck mount points. The configuration involves a bolted plate welded to the deck. Main lift is supported by a 4-point DNV 2.7-3 sling set.
Dimensions
The winch has a length of 6058mm across the drum, a width of 2438mm, and a height of 3652mm including fleeting. The drum length between flanges is 4160mm, with a core diameter of 1180mm and a flange diameter of 2140mm.
Drive and Control
The winch is driven by a hydraulic Bosch Rexroth (Hagglund) system with a band type, direct acting brake. It features a closed loop hydraulic spooling system with a maximum supply of 250bar/400LPM. All fittings are stainless steel with quick release couplings. Control is managed via a standalone control console with proportional in/out controls, and remote operation is possible.
Notes
The winch features axial fleeting with a diverter sheave for inline umbilical exit, making it suitable for both shallow and deep water operations. It has a 20ft ISO container footprint with twist lock corners for easy road transport.
