BNWAS

BNWAS

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS) is designed to monitor bridge activity and detect operator disability that could lead to marine accidents. It ensures the Officer Of the Watch (OOW) is alert and can automatically alert the Master or another qualified person if the OOW becomes incapable of performing duties.
Data & Features: The BNWAS includes multiple alarm stages to alert the OOW through visual and audible signals. If no response is detected, alerts escalate to backup OOW cabins and public areas. The system also allows for emergency calls.
Application: The system is compact, easy to install, and features an intuitive control philosophy. It is suitable for large, medium, and small vessels with specific configurations for each.
Legal Requirements: According to MSC 86, BNWAS must be installed on ships of 150 gross tonnage and upwards, and passenger ships irrespective of size, constructed on or after July 1, 2011. There are specific deadlines for ships constructed before this date based on their tonnage.
Alarm Stages: The system includes a pre-alarm stage and three main alarm stages, each with specific visual and audible alerts. The timing and escalation of these alarms are critical for ensuring safety.
Periphery Equipment: Various components such as reset units, alarm panels, and motion sensors are part of the system. These components are designed to be robust, with features like dimmable illumination, IP ratings for protection, and compatibility with NMEA interfaces.

APPLICATION compact connecting module intuitive control philosophy easy to install The bridge navigational watch alarm system (BNWAS) monitors bridge activity and detects operator disability that could lead to marine accidents. The system monitors the awareness of the Officer Of the Watch (OOW) and automatically alerts the Master or another qualified person if for any reason the OOW becomes incapable of performing the OOW‘s duties. This process is subdivided in different alarm stages which primarily try to alert the OOW via visual and audible alerts. In case the BNWAS does not receive any evidence of life, the alert will be transferred to the selected backup Officer Of the Watch (OOW) cabin(s). Assuming that no acknowledgement has been triggered either, the ultimate alert stage will activate alarm devices in public area. Additionally, the BNWAS provides the OOW with a means of calling for immediate assistance if required (emergency call).
