Product catalog summary
Product Description: TT-P-28H is a one-component, modified silicone, heat-resistant coating designed to withstand temperatures up to 1200°F and normal weather exposure. It features an aluminum sheen finish and is available in aluminum color (#17178).
Product Characteristics: The coating has a volume solids content of 36% ± 2.0% and weight solids of 44% ± 2.0%. It has a VOC content of less than 2.05 lbs/gal (240 gms/liter). Recommended spreading rates are 2.0-3.0 wet mils and 0.7-1.0 dry mils, with a coverage of approximately 579 sq ft/gal. The drying schedule at 77°F and 50% RH is 1 hour to touch, 24 hours to recoat, and 3 hours to service, with full hardness achieved after heating for 1 hour at 400°F.
Recommended Uses: Suitable for superheated steam lines, boiler casings, boiler drums, and similar high-temperature applications.
Surface Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Minimum preparation for iron and steel is SSPC-SP5/NACE 1 with a 1.5 mil profile maximum.
Application Conditions: The temperature range for application is 40°F to 120°F, with a relative humidity maximum of 85%. The surface should be at least 5°F above the dew point.
Application Equipment: For airless spray, use 2000-2500 psi pressure with a 1/4" ID hose and .015" tip. For conventional spray, use Binks 95 gun with 63C fluid nozzle and 63PB air nozzle at 60 psi atomization pressure.
Safety Precautions: Refer to the MSDS sheet before use. Clean spills and tools with mineral spirits immediately after use.
Warranty: Sherwin-Williams warrants products to be free of manufacturing defects, with liability limited to replacement or refund of the purchase price.
