Product catalog summary
Product Description: SEAGUARD 3000 MARINE POLYURETHANE is a robust, two-component coating suitable for both exterior and interior applications. It is characterized by low VOC, high solids, and offers high gloss, excellent chemical resistance, color retention, and chalk resistance. It is particularly resistant to chemical, weather, and mechanical conditions, and is abrasion and impact resistant.
Product Characteristics: The finish is glossy with a wide range of colors available. Volume solids are 70% ± 2%, and weight solids are 80% ± 2%. The VOC content is less than 250 g/L when unreduced. The mix ratio is 2:1 by volume, and the recommended spreading rate per coat is between 3.0 to 4.5 wet mils and 2.0 to 3.0 dry mils.
Drying Schedule: At 77°F (25°C) and 50% RH, the coating is touch dry in 2 hours, handleable in 5 hours, and fully cured in 7 days. Pot life varies with temperature, being 2 hours at 77°F.
Recommended Uses: Ideal for marine and offshore applications, including exterior decks, deck houses, freeboard, topside, machinery, and equipment. It resists splash, spillage, and fumes of dilute acids, alkalies, solvents, and fuels.
Performance Characteristics: The product exhibits excellent abrasion resistance, adhesion, impact resistance, and exterior durability. It passes various ASTM tests for weathering, adhesion, flexibility, and salt fog resistance.
Surface Preparation: Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Specific preparation standards are provided for different materials like iron, steel, aluminum, and galvanized metal.
Application Conditions: The temperature range for application is 40°F to 120°F, with a maximum relative humidity of 85%. Detailed application procedures and equipment guidelines are provided.
Safety Precautions: Users should refer to the MSDS sheet before use. The product is sensitive to water, and proper equipment cleaning is essential to avoid blockages.
Warranty: Sherwin-Williams warrants the product to be free of manufacturing defects, with liability limited to replacement or refund of the purchase price.
