Due to the special shape of the Fully-Automatic Twistlocks, the container is slightly slewing around its vertical axis when positioned to the lower deck container on board. Different from Semi-Automatic Twistlocks the Fully-Automatic Twistlocks of SEC are made of one piece solid housing with a minimum of movable parts. Theoretically these moveable parts are available as spare items (one set costs less than 10% of the initial costs of a Fully-Automatic Twistlock) and can be replaced easily in just 2-3 minutes time.
