The Sealite SL80 LED barge lantern is a reliable, heavy duty, sectored LED lantern designed for maintenance-free barge operation. The unit operates by an integrated solar-battery system, allowing it to operate completely independent of the vessel’s power. The SL80 is largely maintenance-free, and will automatically switch ‘off’ at dawn and begin recharging the battery. The lantern is fitted with an external toggle switch, allowing it to be shut down during storage. Of course, the solar modules will continue to charge the battery in this ‘Off’ mode. ‘On/Off’ Toggle Switch Designed to offer the user enormous flexibility, the battery can be easily replaced, and the LED flasher units can be readily interchanged between lanterns. By partitioning the Sealite LED Reflector (patents pending), the required sectors are achieved. Two 5watt solar modules continue to charge the battery during daylight hours, and are attached to a sturdy aluminium frame. The large 4ah battery and LED driver unit are encased in an aluminium battery housing. The entire frame and battery housing has been subject to a 7-stage powdercoating process, and includes a handle for easy manoeuvrability.
