Product catalog summary
Specifications
The M8000 gyro stabilizer is designed for marine applications with a rated speed of 8000 RPM. It features an angular momentum of 8,000 N-M-S and an anti-rolling torque of 17,140 N-M at rated RPM. The spool-up time to reach rated RPM is 35 minutes, with stabilization at 70% RPM taking 20 minutes. Power requirements include an AC motor at 3000 Watts and DC control at 240 Watts. Operating power varies between 1000-2500 Watts for the AC motor, depending on sea state, and 240 Watts for DC control. The unit requires an AC input voltage of 208-230VAC and a DC input voltage of 24VDC at 10 Amps. The system also requires a sea water supply of 15.1 liters/min to the heat exchanger and can operate in ambient air temperatures up to 60°C. The gyro weighs 525Kg and measures 0.922m x 0.997m x 0.705m.

Application
The M8000 is an advanced version of the Model 7000, designed for vessels up to 35 tons. It provides stabilization both at zero-speed and while underway. For larger vessels, multiple units or the M21000 model can be used.

Performance
The gyro stabilizer reduces boat roll using gyro-dynamics, eliminating the need for hull protrusions. It features a motion control system that maximizes anti-roll torque across various conditions.

Electrical and Cooling Requirements
The builder must supply 208-230 VAC power for the Motor Drive Box and 24 VDC for the Control Box. Cooling is managed by a closed glycol loop with a sea water heat exchanger, requiring 15.1 lpm of raw water.

Loads and Safety
The foundation for the gyro must be designed to handle concentrated loads. The brake system locks the gyro in case of faults, power loss, or manually via the keypad.

Installation and Controls
The gyro can be installed in various locations but should avoid high acceleration areas. It includes a keypad and display for operation and monitoring, with sensors and alarms for unattended operation. Faults and alarms are recorded for service diagnostics.

Application Seakeeper’s new M8000 gyro is a more powerful version of the original Model 7000 unit. Designed for easier installation and higher performance, it actively stabilizes vessels with displacements up to 35 tons. It is the perfect choice for discerning owners wanting a complete stabilization system that works equally well at zero-speed and at anchor and also while underway. For larger vessels, multiple units can be installed to achieve the desired stability characteristics or the new M21000 can be utilized. Performance Resonant boat roll is the most disorienting contrast with dry land experience and the least desirable motion on a boat. Uncomfortable, tiring, and probably the greatest cause of seasickness, it has been an unavoidable price to pay for many for the pleasure of being on the water. Employing the principles of gyro-dynamics, Seakeeper vacuum-sealed gyro stabilizers exert a powerful righting torque that virtually eliminates boat roll without any need for drag-producing or damage-prone protrusions or appendages from the hull. Seakeeper’s unique stateof-the-art motion control system actively regulates the hydraulic braking system to ensure the anti-roll torque is maximized for all hull designs and for the ever-changing operating and sea conditions.

Electrical The builder is responsible for supplying 208-230 VAC (+/- 10%), 50/60 Hz, single phase power on a 30 Amp service to the Motor Drive Box and 24 VDC on a 10 Amp service to the Control Box. Cooling The Gyro bearings and Motor Drive Box are cooled by a closed glycol cooling loop that incorporates a sea water heat exchanger. The builder is responsible for providing 15.1 lpm raw water at ambient sea temperature and 6.9 Bar maximum pressure to this heat exchanger. The ambient air temperature in the compartment in which the Gyro and Motor Drive Box are mounted should not exceed 60 C. Loads...
