Product catalog summary
Product Description: Seajet 039 Platinum is an advanced Self Polishing Copolymer (SPC) antifouling designed for high-performance in areas with significant fouling. It is suitable for use on all substrates except aluminium and is ideal for blue water cruisers.
Specifications: The product is available in 2lt and 4lt sets with a mixing ratio of Component A: 88 and Component B: 12. The flash point is 27°C, and the VOC content is 565 g/l. The recommended application temperature ranges from 5°C to 35°C with a maximum humidity of 85% R.H.
Application Details: The product can be applied using a brush, roller, or spray (professional use only). The recommended film thickness per coat is 104 µm wet and 50 µm dry. The spreading rate is specified as m²/l (theoretical). For airless spray application, a Graco 621 - 723 nozzle tip is recommended with a pressure of 12.0 MPa.
Surface Preparation: Surfaces should be cleaned with a high-pressure wash (±200 bar). Existing antifouling in good condition should be checked for compatibility with SEAJET products. If incompatible, a barrier coat of SEAJET 015 is required. Poor condition antifouling should be removed by wet sanding or chemical stripping.
Mixing and Application: Component B should be added to Component A in 3-4 portions while mixing mechanically. The product should be used within 4 hours after mixing for airless spray applications. Two coats are recommended, with an extra coat on leading edges, waterline, rudders, and stern gear.
Safety and Handling: Adequate ventilation is necessary, and contact with skin and inhalation of spray mist should be avoided. The product is flammable, so it should be kept away from sparks and open flames. Containers should be stored in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated space.
Drying and Overcoating: Drying times vary with temperature, with surface dry times ranging from 30 minutes to 3 hours and hard dry times from 4 to 12 hours. The overcoating interval is a minimum of 4 to 12 hours with no maximum limit.
Additional Information: The product has a shelf life of at least 2 years at 20°C. Disposal should be conducted at hazardous or special waste collection points. More information is available on the Seajet website.

SEAJET 039 PLATINUM 2-COMPONENTS Product description Seajet 039 Platinum is an advanced Self Polishing Copolymer (SPC) antifouling. An ultimate performance antifouling suitable for the highest fouling areas. Ideal for blue water cruisers. Can be used on all substrates except aluminium. Stir well before use Comp.A: 88 Comp.B: 12 (by volume) * Film thickness and spreading rate depends on application method. In case of brush application more layers may be required to achieve the specified film thickness. - It is important that Component A and Component B will be mixed mechanically, do not add Component B all at once to Component A but in 3-4 portions. - Due to the chemical reaction, the product can thicken but as long as it applied within mentioned pot-life, there will be no problem. - For airless spray application, the product has to be used within 4 hours after mixing using prefilter. After immersion, SEAJET 039 PLATINUM 2-COMPONENTS may exhibit a slight colour change. Surface preparation High pressure wash (±200 bar) to clean the surface. Existing antifouling in good condition: check the SEAJET antifouling compatibility table. If compatible, apply direct. If the old antifouling is not compatible or unknown, apply a barrier coat of SEAJET 015. Existing antifouling in poor condition: remove antifouling. Antifouling should only be wet sanded or chemically stripped. Never burn-off or dry sand old antifouling. Ensure the surface is dry and free of contamination such as salt, grease or oil. Degrease if required. Apply two coats. Apply an extra coat on leading edges, waterline, rudders and stern gear. New application: GRP/Steel: first sand with P100 abrasive paper, remove all dust and apply SEAJET 015 or SEAJET 117 MULTIPURPOSE EPOXY PRIMER. Wood: first sand with P100 abrasive paper, remove all dust and apply SEAJET 015. Aluminium: DO NOT USE SEAJET 039 PLATINUM 2-COMPONENTS on aluminium surfaces.
