Product catalog summary
Product Description: Seajet 034 Emperor is a high-performance self-polishing antifouling paint suitable for aluminium, ideal for club racers as it can be burnished during the season. It is available in bright colours and poses no risk of galvanic corrosion on aluminium surfaces.
Specifications: The paint is available in pack sizes of 0.75lt, 2.5lt, 5lt, and 20lt. It has a volume solids percentage of 56 ±2 and a VOC of 455 g/l. The recommended film thickness per coat is 89 µm wet and 50 µm dry.
Application Details: The paint can be applied using a brush, roller, or spray (professional use only). The recommended thinning is 0-5% by volume using SEAJET THINNER A. The paint should be applied at ambient, product, and substrate temperatures between 5°C and 35°C, with a maximum humidity of 85% R.H.
Surface Preparation: Surfaces should be cleaned with a high-pressure wash (±200 bar). Existing antifouling in good condition should be checked for compatibility. If incompatible or unknown, a barrier coat of SEAJET 015 should be applied. Poor condition antifouling should be removed by wet sanding or chemical stripping.
Drying and Overcoating: Drying times vary with temperature, with surface dry times ranging from 30 minutes to 3 hours and hard dry times from 4 to 12 hours. The minimum overcoating interval is 4 to 12 hours, with no maximum interval.
Safety and Handling: Adequate ventilation is required, and skin contact and inhalation of spray mist should be avoided. The product is flammable, so it should be kept away from sparks and open flames. Containers should be stored in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated space.
