Introduction
Crystic BP 90-78PA and Crystic BP 90-79PA are fast-curing, pre-accelerated orthophthalic polyester bonding pastes designed for non-structural bonding applications in GRP mouldings, such as panels and internal frames.

Physical Data – Uncured
Both pastes appear as white or grey with a viscosity of 600,000 cP at 25ºC. They have a stability of 3 months at 20ºC and specific gravity of 1.3. Geltime is 10 minutes for BP 90-78PA and 5 minutes for BP 90-79PA at 20ºC.

Physical Data – Cured
Upon curing, BP 90-78PA has a Barcol hardness of 47, tensile strength of 28 MPa, and tensile modulus of 3100 MPa. BP 90-79PA has a Barcol hardness of 39, tensile strength of 29 MPa, and tensile modulus of 3200 MPa.

Features and Benefits
The pastes are highly thixotropic, ensuring no drainage on vertical surfaces, and they cure quickly, facilitating fast production cycles.

Substrates and Surface Preparation
These pastes can bond to surfaces like timber and plasterboard, but trials are recommended to ensure bond strength. Surfaces should be clean, dry, and possibly abraded before application.

Application
Supplied pre-accelerated, the pastes require 1% Butanox M50 catalyst. Application should be above 15°C, ideally between 18 and 25°C, using a spatula or dispensing unit.

Additives and Coverage
Adding pigments may affect curing and bond strength. Approximately 4Kg covers one square meter to a depth of 3mm.

Storage and Packaging
Store between 15 and 20°C, away from sunlight, in original containers. Available in 25Kg and 225Kg containers.

Substrates Crystic BP 90-78PA and Crystic BP 90-79PA can be used on surfaces other than GRP such as timber and plasterboard. However, it is recommended that trials are carried out to ensure that adequate bond strength is obtained. Surface Preparation The surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and free from any contamination. It may be necessary to abrade the surfaces to be bonded in order to obtain the bond strength required.
