Design and Efficiency:
The SCHOTTEL Rim Thruster is designed to reduce noise and vibration while saving space and weight. It converts electric power directly into propulsion, eliminating transmission losses and gearbox noise. The stator is integrated into the tunnel, and the blades are attached to the rotor, optimizing hydrodynamic design and reducing cavitation.

Maintenance:
The robust design of the SRT ensures reduced maintenance. The electric motor is cooled by surrounding water, preventing overheating. Wear parts are easily replaceable by a diver, and water-lubricated slide bearings are accessible for maintenance.
