  • Sensing Options: Potentiometric or switched sensing available.
  • Output Signals: Offers analog signals proportional to lever movement or 3, 4, or 5 switched outputs per joystick half axis.
  • Connector: Utilizes a 12-way Hirose connector for each joystick axis.
  • Environmental Protection: Sealed to IP66 above the panel for enhanced durability.
Design and Features
The joystick features a low profile design for side-by-side mounting, constructed with durable cast metal components. It can withstand a 900N downward static load and up to 20Nm maximum overload.
Reliability
Designed for over 5 million operations without maintenance, the JC3000 uses long-life potentiometer tracks with multi-fingered precious metal wipers to minimize electrical noise.
Benefits
  • Long-lasting and maintenance-free operation.
  • Rugged and smooth lever movement.
  • Versatile for various operator control functions.
  • Simple and error-free installation.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
The product complies with EMC Directive 2004/108/EC and is manufactured under BS EN ISO9001:2008 quality standards.
Potentiometric Sensing
Generates analog outputs proportional to handle movement, suitable for fault detection circuits, and resistant to electromagnetic interference.
Switched Output
Offers 3, 4, or 5 switches per axis with mechanical detents, operating sequentially as the joystick lever moves.
Custom Design
Penny + Giles provides customization for OEMs requiring specialized designs.
Installation
The joystick is mounted from below the panel through a specified diameter hole, requiring a rigid mounting surface and correct screw torque for proper sealing.
Additional Details
  • Handle Options: Includes plain lever, threaded lever, tapered, ball, and low-profile fluted handles for specific control needs.
  • Performance Options: Configurable with different lever ranges and track codes, offering medium-duty performance with specific breakout and deflection forces.
  • Switch Options: ZC1 and ZCS handle options include momentary switch functions with IP65 and IP66 sealing ratings, designed for high durability with up to 1 million operations.
  • Ordering Information: Provides example order codes for specifying configuration, including axis type, lever range, track code, and handle style.

JC3000 Finger Operated Joystick Controller-2

INNOVATION IN MOTION The JC3000 joystick controller is designed for demanding applications in remote control chestpacks or auxiliary functions on industrial vehicles and other man-machine interfaces, where precise control, signal reliability, and compact size are important. The joystick is available with single or dual axis control, and can be specified with a choice of either long life potentiometer tracks, or switched output signals. Innovative design With a choice of potentiometer tracks that provide the analog signals proportional to lever movement or 3, 4 or 5 switched outputs per joystick...

JC3000 Finger Operated Joystick Controller-3

Potentiometric sensing Designed to interface with an electronic controller, the long-life potentiometer track generates analog outputs with switched reference signals that are proportional to the distance and direction over which the handle is moved. The analog output can be configured to provide signals for fault detection circuits, and a center tap provides an accurate voltage reference for the center position or a zero point for a bipolar supply voltage. The electrically independent switch operates with separate contacts each side of the joystick center position, in each available axis. The...
