The Delta Escort Tug T100-17 has been designed, in cooperation with Stubitec BV, to escort large LNG carriers. It follows the assisted ship closely, providing advanced steering and braking capabilities. The large skeg azimuth tug is ideally suited for these manoeuvres, with steering forces being generated by a combination of propulsive and hydrodynamic forces. With a 100t bollard pull, it is equipped to assist the new fleet of LNG tankers. The vessel has a revolutionary escort winch that is optimised for fiber rope and high snatch loads. The unique configuration of the fiber-towing line components is a distinguishing feature, and provides an extended lifetime and enhanced safety.
