CO2 Scrubber

CO2 Scrubber

CO2 Scrubber

Product catalog summary
Overview: The CO2 scrubber unit is engineered to eliminate CO2 from the atmosphere in hyperbaric chambers. It utilizes an induced flow fan to draw gas through a canister filled with sodalime, which absorbs CO2 efficiently.
Specifications: The scrubber can support eight individuals for over six hours with adequate gas circulation. The fan motor, designed by IHC Hytech, features potted stator electronics for protection against environmental conditions like high oxygen levels, humidity, and pressure. The motor is brushless, ensuring reliability and maintenance-free operation.
Canister Details: The canister holds approximately 7.5 kg (16.5 lbs) of CO2 absorbent and connects to the motor via a bayonet locking mechanism for easy replacement. It includes an internal mesh rate of 0.3 mm to retain small grains and can use sodalime with a particle size of 1-2 mm to minimize dust and extend sodalime life, reducing costs.
Ordering Information: Various versions of the CO2 scrubber are available, including pre-set and external speed versions, with optional power supply and fan speed control units.
Dimensions and Weight: The unit measures 422 mm in length, 226 mm in width, and 245 mm in height. The complete unit weighs 8.3 kg (empty canister) and 16 kg (full canister).
Power and Operating Conditions: The power supply requirement is 24-28 VDC, 2A. The rotating speed ranges from 1400-3300 rpm without the canister at atmospheric pressure. The maximum operating pressure is 42 bar, depending on the gas mixture, with compressed air allowing up to 10 bar. Adding helium increases the maximum operating pressure.

An induced flow fan pulls the gas through the cannister. This is filled with sodalime which absorbs the CO2. Due to the efficient design, one scrubber is capable of serving eight persons for more than 6 hours in a chamber with adequate gas circulation. The fan motor is an IHC Hytech design which has completely potted stator electronics. This will protect the motor from different environmental conditions such as raised oxygen levels, humidity and pressure. The motor is reliable and maintenance free, because of its brushless design. The canister can hold approx 7.5 kg (16.5 lbs) of CO2 absorbent and is connected to the motor by a bayonet locking mechanism for easy replacement. The canister has been provided with a internal meshrate of 0.3 mm to keep in the smallest grains. Also a sodalime with a partical size of 1-2 mm can be used in the scrubber to minimise dust forming and increase duration of the sodalime to reduces costs.
