UNSINKABLE ROTAX MOORING BUOYS

UNSINKABLE ROTAX MOORING BUOYS

Product catalog summary
Introduction
Rotax, a company specializing in the development and manufacture of nautical products, has introduced a new generation of mooring buoys. These buoys are designed to be unsinkable and environmentally friendly.

Specifications
The mooring buoys are made from rotational-moulded polyethylene and filled with expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam. This construction ensures that the buoys remain unsinkable, even when damaged by propellers, impacts, or vandalism. Unlike polyurethane foam, EPS foam consists of closed cells that do not absorb water, enhancing durability and reliability.

Environmental Considerations
The use of EPS foam not only provides technical advantages but also makes the buoys 100% recyclable. The quality of the EPS foam is rigorously tested weekly to measure its water absorption capacity over a 7-day period.

Product Range
Rotax offers a range of mooring buoys in four different volumes: 40 L, 64 L, 120 L, and 200 L. Each buoy is equipped with through-shafts with interior diameters of 26, 46, 52, or 63 mm, suitable for mooring ropes, chains, or rods.

Technical Data
  • BM200: 228 L, 775 mm diameter, 729 mm height, 15.5 kg weight
  • BM120: 129 L, 649 mm diameter, 602 mm height, 9 kg weight
  • BM64: 69 L, 519 mm diameter, 480 mm height, 5.3 kg weight
  • BM40: 43 L, 411 mm diameter, 410 mm height, 3.5 kg weight
All buoys are available in a variety of colors, and other tube diameters can be requested.

Conclusion
Rotax's new generation of mooring buoys combines advanced materials and design to offer durable, unsinkable, and recyclable solutions for nautical mooring needs.

UNSINKABLE ROTAX MOORING BUOYS-1

UNSINKABLE MOORING BUOYS Mooring buoys new generation Rotax decided to bring its experience in manufacturing unsinkable floats to the development of a new generation of mooring buoys. Produced from rotational-moulded polyethylene, the buoys are also filled with expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam in order to guarantee their unsinkability. Unlike buoys filled with polyurethane foam, EPS foam is composed of closed cells, which cannot fill with water. Therefore, after being struck by propellers or violent impacts, and even in the case of deliberate vandalism, your ROTAX buoy will never sink. In addition to its technical advantages, use of EPS foam enables a 100% recyclable buoy. In the same way as for pontoon floats, the quality of the EPS foam is checked every week using a procedure that measures its water absorption capacity (7-day test). The range of ROTAX mooring buoys is available in 4 volumes: 40 L, 64 L, 120 L and 200 L. They are equipped with through-shafts with an interior diameter of 26, 46, 52 or 63 mm, ideal for inserting mooring ropes, chains or rods.
