Furling Line Replacement:
  • Use RS000001, an 8m (26ft) pre-spliced continuous loop for replacement.
  • If a custom length is needed, purchase a splicing needle (RFSPLICE-1), cut the RS000001 loop, and re-splice.
  • Tools required: Spanner for M4 (5/32”) nut, Silicon lubricant spray (e.g., Ronstan Sailfast RF3000).
Procedure:
  • Remove the M4 Nylok nut to detach the Stainless Steel guide from the furler shaft.
  • Slide out the guide to free the PTFE strip.
  • Replace with the new RS000001 furling line.
  • Apply silicon-based lubricant in the groove for smooth operation.
  • Reattach the guide ensuring alignment with the PTFE strip cutouts.
  • Manually swivel the drum to ensure it spins freely over the PTFE strip.
  • Use two Cam cleats to maintain furling line tension when not in use.
Maintenance:
  • Rinse with fresh water regularly to remove salt.
  • Apply silicon-based lubricant (e.g., Ronstan RF3000) to enhance performance and extend service life.
  • Replacement furling line loops can be ordered using part number RS000001.
