Demonstration & test - 1

demonstrations & independent testing Complete setting reliability The Rocna can be relied upon to set in its own length, no matter where you drop it or how it lands. Note the minimal drag pattern in these photos. “Always set quickly... the drag pattern always under a metre...” – Boating NZ How much better is a Rocna? To answer that question, below are some hard figures. These results are independent; they are from West Marine's 2006 anchor testing, which involved no less than fourteen types, three locations, and three different scopes (3:1, 5:1, and 7:1). The testing was written up in SAIL magazine. COMPARATIVE HOLDING POWER holding power (lbs) per relative size (ratio) 180 160 Max Before Releasing (holding power) Max Pull (peak load while dragging) Stable dragging (failure to set) 140 120 100 80 60 40 20 0 na oc R e ad Sp ta el D I/ Su em pr l ge Bü A C R SA AS W n so an M ga ag lw Bu e R Q C le bb bu ro 20 yd ce H an rm ® rfo Pe ss ® M W Z e an e rtr Fo XY cé O w la C DATA FROM 2006 COMPARISON TESTING The values charted are ratios of holding power to relative anchor weight. "Max Before Releasing" is the most important value. Results of aluminium anchors have been adjusted to allow comparison to steel anchors. Watch the video Results from our own testing can be seen on our website, along with our video which demonstrates the setting performance of various anchors. We encourage you to watch this, as it will illustrate the relevance of the above independent test results. “The Rocna was a powerful, impressive performer in our tests, recording instant sets at multiple 5,000lb maximum pulls at 5:1 scope...” – Yachting Monthly w w w. r o c n a . c o m
