KR17 window system product information The heavy duty KR17 window system is suited for seagoing vessels because it can with fitted with thick glass. Installation of KR17 windows is simple and easy. No drilling into the ship’s hull is neccessary. Instead, factory supplied clamping blocks are slotted in a rail in the window. The blocks are placed with an 8-10 centimetre spacing. The imbus screw with metric thread and hexagonal head is tightened and this clamps the window to the ship’s hull. The hull can have a thickness of up to 10 millimetres maximum at the edge where the clamping blocks are placed. After installation the clamping blocks can be hidden from sight behind an optional EPDM rubber trim. KR17 windows can be fitted with single or double tempered glazing of various colours and thicknesses. Instead of the EPDM rubber trim a custom aluminium L profile can be used to finish the installation.
