RESOLTECH 3040

Product catalog summary
Product Overview: RESOLTECH 3040 is a high-performance cold cure epoxy adhesive paste designed for ambient temperature bonding. It is suitable for a variety of materials including composites, PVC, honeycomb cores, steel, aluminum alloys, and concrete. The adhesive is non-flammable, easy to use, and does not require post-curing.
Mixing Ratio: The mixing ratio is 1:1 by volume, regardless of the hardener used (3045). Accurate adherence to the mixing ratio is crucial to maintain mechanical properties. The mixture should be stirred thoroughly for homogeneity. To prevent exothermic reactions, mix only the necessary amount and use flat open containers.
Application: RESOLTECH 3040 is suitable for a wide range of bonding applications, including core and composite bonding. For steel, surfaces must be clean, degreased, and sanded. Aluminum alloys require etching treatment before bonding. Concrete and porous materials should be dry and dust-free. The adhesive provides a long working time and contains no solvents.
Curing: The recommended workshop conditions are 18 to 25°C with a maximum humidity of 70%. The pot life for 100g at 25°C is 20 minutes, with full cure achieved in 7 days at 25°C. Post-curing at elevated temperatures can enhance mechanical properties and speed up curing.
Mechanical Properties: The adhesive has a tensile/shear strength of 300 daN/cm² and a maximum glass transition temperature (TG) of 50°C. Cure performance at 22°C is over 30% in 2 hours, over 60% in 4 hours, and over 90% in 6 hours.
Physical Properties: The resin, hardener, and mixture all have a black paste appearance, with other colors available upon request. The density of the mixture is 1.4.
Packing & Storage: Available in various sizes from 25ml syringes to 50kg containers. The shelf life is one year in sealed containers, which should be kept away from heat and cold.
Health and Safety: Basic safety precautions include avoiding skin contact and wearing masks when producing dust. In case of eye contamination, rinse with water and seek medical advice. More detailed safety information is available on the company's website.

RESOLTECH 3040-1

3040 COLD CURE EPOXY ADHESIVE PASTE RESOLTECH 3040 is a high performance adhesive formulated for ambient temperature bonding. It is suitable for composites, PVC & honeycomb cores, steel, aluminium alloys and even concrete. 3040 is non-flammable, easy to use, does not require post curing and can be used to bond materials with different dilatation properties. MIXING RATIO The mixing ratio is constant whatever the hardener selected. By volume: 1 + 1 Hardener(s) available: 3045. WARNING: The mixing ratio must be accurately followed. It is not possible to change the ratio, it would result in lower mechanical properties. The mixture should be thoroughly stirred to ensure full homogeneity. It is important to note that epoxy systems tend to heat up much faster in a pot than as a thin film. It is therefore necessary to only mix the necessary amount usable within the given pot life. Keeping the mixture in flat open containers reduces the risks of exothermic reaction. APPLICATION RESOLTECH 3040 is an ambient temperature cure adhesive formulated for a large range of bonding applications. It is suitable for core bonding and also for composite to composite bonding. For steel bonding, ensure the surfaces are clean, degreased and sanded. For aluminium alloy bonding, an etching treatment is required prior to bonding. For bonding onto concrete and porous materials, ensure the surface is dry and dustfree. The standard procedure of working with epoxy systems applies to the RESOLTECH 3040. RESOLTECH 3040 does not contain any solvents and provides a long working time. For more information, please refer to the applications technical bulletins (TechNotes), available on request. CURING Workshop conditions: 18 to 25oC, 70% humidity maximum. Pot life 100g @ 25°C Full cure RESOLTECH 3040 does not require a post cure, although a post cure at an elevated temperature will improve mechanical properties and accelerate the cure.
