Introduction
RESOLTECH 1800 ECO/1804 ECO is a biobased epoxy resin system designed for infusion and injection applications. It is 34% biobased and suitable for manufacturing structural composite parts with various reinforcements such as flax, hemp, glass, carbon, and aramid. The system offers low viscosity, excellent wetting properties, and outstanding adhesion, making it ideal for RTM applications. It cures at room temperature and achieves a glass transition temperature (TG) of up to 94°C, suitable for tooling and parts manufacturing.

Mixing Ratio
The mixing ratio by weight is 100/26 and by volume is 100/32. Accurate mixing is crucial to maintain mechanical properties. The mixture should be stirred thoroughly to ensure homogeneity. It is recommended to mix only the necessary amount to avoid excessive heat generation.

Physical Characteristics
The mixed system appears as an opalescent neutral liquid with a density of 1.19 at 23°C. The viscosity at 23°C is 258 mPa.s.

Reactivities
The gel time for a 70mL mix at 23°C is approximately 4 hours and 53 minutes, with an exothermic peak temperature of 42°C. For a 500mL mix, the gel time is 1 hour and 55 minutes.

Curing and Post-Curing
To achieve optimal thermo-mechanical properties, specific curing cycles are recommended. The system should not be used above 50°C to avoid residual stress. Various curing cycles result in different TG values, with the highest being 94°C.

Mechanical Properties
Mechanical properties vary with curing cycles. For example, after 16 hours at 60°C, the flexural modulus is 3.22 GPa, maximum strength is 93.6 MPa, and elongation at break is 3.14%. Water absorption is 0.15%.

Packaging
The product is available in various packaging sizes, including kits of 1kg + 0.26kg, 5kg + 1.3kg, 30kg + 7.8kg, and 200kg + 2 x 26kg.

Transport & Storage
Store in a sealed container between 10°C and 30°C in a well-ventilated area. Check the expiry date on the label.

To avoid residual stress in the composite and possible shrinkage. The 1800 ECO/1804 ECO epoxy system should not be used at a temperature above 50°C. In order to obtain the maximum thermo-mechanical properties, it is necessary to respect the recommended curing cycle.
