Product catalog summary
Specifications:
Typical vessel length ranges from 24-30m (80-100ft), with fin sizes between 1.6-2.0m2 (17.2-21.5ft2). Aspect ratios are typically 0.40-0.61, and balance is maintained at 18-20%. Dimensions are available through a Quantum representative.

Installation and Construction:
The stabilizer fin is installed using a hydraulic coupling method, ensuring a durable and reliable connection. The fins are constructed from steel or stainless steel with internal reinforcement to withstand operational loads.

Noise and Maintenance:
Innovative design features such as minimal hull-to-fin clearances and vortex generators reduce noise and vibrations. The fins require minimal maintenance, aligning with vessel haul-outs every two years.

Functionality:
The stabilizer fin counters vessel roll by generating hydrodynamic forces, similar to an airplane wing. It is effective during both underway and Zero Speed™ operations, quickly adjusting to counteract roll motions.

Warranty and Support:
Quantum offers a 1-year comprehensive warranty with worldwide service and technical support.

Additional Information:
For system sizing and specific vessel requirements, consultation with a Quantum representative is recommended. The document's information is proprietary to the Quantum Group and subject to change.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION DOCUMENT QC1000 ZERO SPEED™ & UNDERWAY (P-SERIES) STABILIZER FIN DESCRIPTION: A stabilizer fin is the device which develops the hydrodynamic forces needed to counter the roll motions of the vessel. The fin is installed on the stabilizer hull unit shaft, which serves as the axis about which the fin is deflected. Much like an airplane wing, as the fin is deflected, pressure differences result in a hydrodynamic force on the fin; this resultant force is used to counter-act the roll of the vessel during underway operations. During Zero SpeedTM operations, the fin is quickly swung on demand to generate the needed counter-roll forces. Designed based on extensive experience and model testing, the QC1000 P-series stabilizer fin is capable of significantly reducing vessel roll during both underway and Zero Speed™ operations. FEATURES: SIMPLE INSTALLATION: The fin is installed on the stabilizer hull unit shaft via a hydraulic coupling method. This attachment technique provides a durable and reliable connection, easily achieved with the use of supplied tools and instructions. MINIMAL NOISE: Quantum’s stabilizer fins are designed with innovative features such as minimal hull-to-fin clearances and trailing edge vortex generators. These elements help to reduce hydrodynamic noise and vibrations while underway. ROBUST CONSTRUCTION: The fins are fabricated of steel or stainless steel combined with strategic internal reinforcement. This interior bolstering enables the fin to withstand the cyclic loads encountered during operation. MINIMAL MAINTENANCE: The fin requires no maintenance during normal INNOVATION operation. The units are designed for maintenance intervals corresponding to vessel haul-outs every other year. Equipment is covered by Quantum’s 1 year comprehensive warranty. Service and technical support are available worldwide. WWW.QUANTUMHYDRAULIC.COM 100706
