Propstrip Technical datasheet - 1

PropstripTechnical Data Sheet Product Line Propstrip Description Propstrip is an environmentally safe, water based coating remover designed specifi caLLy for the removal of aged Propspeed primer and topcoat off various metal substrates. Propstrip does not contain HAPs (hazardous air pollutants) or TAPs (toxic air pollutants) and is fully biodegradable in water and soil. Typical Uses As a remover of the Propspeed system from metal substates. Physical Properties Water based emulsion. Solvent Colour Appearance pH Odour Theoretical coverage Shelf life Aromatic/Aliphatic Blend White Creamy acidic Aromatic 12m2 / Lt 12 months Application Follow good environmental practice. We recommend that if you are working in an area that has no water catchment facility, the laying of sacking [burlap] or some other type of catchment product underneath the working area will enable the capture of all waste product and enable its removal. Optimum temperature is 15°C/59°F and above. Expect longer dwell time at lower ambient temperatures. If in direct sunlight or temperatures above 35°C/95°F the product may work and evaporate faster than usual. If evaporation and drying occurs the Propspeed topcoat and primer will set back to the surface. Propstrip can be applied by brush, short nap roller or sprayed with an airless sprayer. Propstrip must only be applied on a 100% dry surface, as it is instantly neutralized with water. Apply the product generously over the coated surface and let it dwell until both topcoat and primer are sufficiently soft and easy to remove. Test areas with scraper to make sure it has softened product sufficiently and is able to be washed off. Wash the softened coatings with a water hose or pressure washer until all loose coatings are removed. If required, use a scraper, abrasive cloth or wet sand paper for spots of hard to remove residue. Propstrip is a “Ready to Use Product”. Do not thin/dilute Propstrip with water or any other solvents. Only pour off from the pail what you need into a plastic container. Do not contaminate the remaining Propstrip with dirty brushes or mixing sticks. This will render the product inefficient. Do not transfer Propstrip to a metal container. This will result in degasing and separation of the product.
