Mechanical system using on board electric winch 14 The maneuvering power is provided by the on-board winches (electric). A brake is installed on the halyard line to adjust the requested tension when furling. A second brake is installed on the furling rope to adjust the requested tension when hoisting the mainsail. Hydraulic system The furling power is provided by the hydraulic unit. No brake is required for the system. The hydraulic unit provide the necessary brake to the furling mandrel. Electric or hydraulic Hydraulic cylinderLateral topping lifts The lateral topping lifts control the boom like a vang. They guide the mainsail square-top when dropping. - 2 dog-bone attachments installed on the canoe fins for an easy connexion and disconnexion of the strops. - 1 electric or hydraulic cylinder to install in the mast. - 1 attachment to screw for the electric or hydraulic cylinder. Furling mainsail recommendations Current mainsail modification According to its conception, quality and wear of the fabric, the mainsail may be modified in furling mainsail. This modification represents an important work. The replacement of the sail may be more economically relevant The polyester fabric Dacron model is not recommended due to time extension. Fabrics in high tenacity fibers woven or filamentary membranes, stiffer are appropriate.
