Powertec Motor Safety Follow these CAUTIONS at all times. Propeller There is danger of injuries or even death if people have any contact with the propeller. The propeller may keep rotating even with the engine on neutral, and the sharp edges of the propeller can cut even when it is still. Stop the engine if there is a person in the water near the boat. Keep the people far from the propeller, even with the engine off. Rotating Pieces Hands, feet, hair, jewelery, clothes, life jacket straps, etc. might get tangled with the rotating inner pieces of the motor. This would cause severe injuries...

Do not cross the cord over a place from which it may unhook accidentally. If the cord is unhooked during functioning, the motor will stop and you will practically lose directional control. The boat may decelerate quickly and cause people and objects to fall into the water. Gasoline Gasoline and its vapors are highly flammable and explosive. Refuel always according to the procedure on page 39 to reduce the risk of fire or explosion. Gasoline Spillage Be careful not to spill gasoline. If gasoline is spilled, clean it immediately with dry cloth. Get rid of the cloth in an appropriate way. If...

Passengers Consult your boat’s manufacturer's instructions in order to obtain details on the appropriate place where passengers should be placed on the boat and make sure that these are placed correctly before accelerating and when you sail over the ralenti speed. If passengers are standing or sitting on improper places they may fall into the water or inside the boat due to the waves, wakes or sudden speed or direction changes. Passenger Training Make sure that at least one every two passengers knows how to operate the boat in case of an emergency. Documentation on Sailing Safety Be informed on Sailing Safety. You can obtain additional documentation and information from many sailing organizations. Legislation and Regulations Be familiar with the marine laws and dispositions applicable on the place you are sailing and obey them. On the different geographical locations there exist diverse rules, but they all basically coincide with the International Course Rules.

Identification Numbers Registration Powertec Motor Serial Number The Powertec Motor Serial Numbe r is printed on the fixed label next to port binding support. Register your outboard motor serial number on the given spaces to facilitate when you have to ask your dealer for respects or for reference in case your Powertec motor is stolen.

A WARNING Emergency starting does not have start-ingear pratecdon. Ensure shift contral is in neutral before starting engine.
