Riverboat ST Tethered Boat For The SonTek S5/M9 ADP Expand Useful Measurement Conditions The Oceanscience Riverboat ST is specially designed for the SonTek S5 or M9 acoustic Doppler current profilers. The trimaran design provides excellent stability and maximizes data quality in a wide range of water velocities and surface conditions. High velocities and standing waves, often problematic with other deployment options for the S5 or M9 profilers may be handled with more security using the Riverboat ST trimaran platform. Handle Varied Velocities With Bow Flare Hulls The Oceanscience Riverboat ST can gather data at water velocities over 12fps (3.6m/s). The proven bow flare trimaran hull design prevents the boat from nose-diving and maintains instrument orientation by reducing pitch, roll and yaw in varied flows. The central hull reduces drag by a factor of 2-4 over catamaran designs making the Riverboat ST capable of operation in a range of water velocities. Standard Configuration Made of unbreakable polyethylene, the Riverboat ST is strong and can handle tough deployment conditions. The standard boat configuration fits the SonTek RiverSurveyor S5 or M9, with or without the DGPS option. The Riverboat ST includes three hulls, aluminum crossbar, instrument mounting plate with S5/M9 clamp, wire rope bridle and mounting hardware for the RiverSurveyor PCM box. Large kick-up fins are standard to ensure snagfree operation. For older SonTek profilers such as the RiverCat and older River Surveyor, the Riverboat ST02 and ST03 trimarans are available with specific instrument mounting arrangements for these profilers.
