M773LW3 Specification Sheet

M773LW3 Specification Sheet

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides technical specifications and features of the Northern Lights M773LW3 marine generator, highlighting its design, electrical systems, and operational capabilities.
Specifications and Dimensions: The M773LW3 generator offers two power outputs: 9 kW at 60 Hz and 7 kW at 50 Hz. It features a vertical inline 3-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 69 in3 (1.13 liters). The generator's dimensions are 35.0 inches in length, 22.0 inches in width, and 23.8 inches in height, with a dry weight of 537 lbs (244 kg).
DC Electrical System: The system is powered by a 12-volt starter motor and includes a battery charging alternator with a belt guard. It features a remote mount control panel with an hour meter, stop-start switch, and safety shutdowns for low oil pressure, high coolant temperature, and high exhaust temperature.
AC Generator: The generator is direct-coupled, four-pole, and re-connectable with Class “H” insulation. It includes an automatic voltage regulator with ±5% voltage regulation and a 30 amp mainline circuit breaker for protection against AC overloads and shorts.
Design Features: The unit integrates a base with a drip pan and platform mounts to isolate vibration. It includes a one-piece heat exchanger, expansion tank, and liquid-cooled exhaust manifold made of cast iron to resist corrosion and electrolysis.
Engine and Cooling System: The engine is a four-cycle, liquid-cooled, naturally aspirated diesel with glow plugs for quick starting. It features swirl combustion chambers for improved fuel efficiency and reduced smoke. The cooling system includes a standard heat exchanger with optional keel cooling.
Fuel and Lubrication Systems: The self-venting fuel system includes an injection pump with a 5% mechanical governor and pintle injectors. The lubrication system has a closed crankcase vent system with a 4.2 qt (4 ltr) oil capacity, allowing for 200-hour oil change intervals.
Compliance and Maintenance: The M773LW3 meets US EPA Tier III emission standards. It features a cast aluminum intake manifold with a Sound Maze air intake to reduce noise and a washable air cleaner for easy maintenance.

MARINE GENERATORS Engine Data Vertical inline 3 cylinder diesel Three Phase with 0.8 PF Voltage regulation Approximate fuel use 2: 1800 RPM @ full load 2. Actual fuel consumption will vary depending on operating conditions. Sound enclosure weight Enclosure length Enclosure width Enclosure height Installation Data Wet exhaust elbow Raw water inlet Engine Block - Four cycle, 3 cylinder, liquid cooled, naturally aspirated, overhead valve diesel with glow plugs for quick starting. Swirl combustion chambers improve fuel efficiency and reduce smoke. Cooling System - Standard heat exchanger cooling with optional keel cooling. Cupro-nickel, tube-type heat exchanger has removable ends for easy cleaning. Rubber impeller. Bronze and stainless steel seawater pump is gear driven eliminating a potential fail point. Fuel System - The self-venting fuel system features an injection pump with 5% mechanical governor for close AC frequency control and pintle injectors with replaceable tips. Stop solenoid acts directly on the fuel rack eliminating linkage problems. The fuel pump is mechanical with a hand primer, eliminating electronic pump failures. Intake and Exhaust - The M773LW3 meets and exceeds US EPA Tier III emission standards. Its cast aluminum intake manifold with Sound Maze air intake reduces intake noise and its washable air cleaner makes routine maintenance simple. The wet exhaust elbow is cast iron for safety. Lubrication System - The closed crankcase vent system traps oil vapor and keeps engine room clean. 4.2 qt (4 ltr) oil capacity for better lubrication and 200 hour oil change intervals. • DC system uses reliable relays instead of an unrepairable printed circuit board. Fuel inlet and return DC Electrical System - The DC System is powered by a 12 volt starter motor and battery charging alternator with belt guard. The set is equipped with a standard S-1B remote mount control panel, featuring an hour meter, stop-start switch with run light and a preheat switch. The standard panel can expand to six panels up to 110 feet from the set, while the 20 foot (6m) plug-in panel harness lets you mount your panel anywhere onboard. Low oil pressure, high coolant temp and high exhaust temp safety shutdowns standard. AC Generator - The Northern Lights, direct coupled, four pole, revolving field, four lead re-connectable generator has Class “H” insulation and a pre-lubricated bearing and features a conservative heat rise rating: 95°C/50°C ambient. Our external automatic voltage regulator gives you ± 5% voltage regulation and is powered by a dedicated AC winding for improved motor starting. The AVR is protected by a dedicated circuit breaker. The 30 amp mainline circuit breaker protects generator from AC overloads and shorts. Design Features - Integrated unit features base with drip pan and plateform mounts to isolate vibration. • One-piece heat exchanger, expansion tank and liquid cooled exhaust manifold. Cast iron to resist corrosion and electrolysis. • Replaceable heat exchanger element. • Full flow, spin-on oil filter with bypass. • Gear driven seawater pump. www.northern-lights.com Dealer Northern Lights, Inc. • 4420 14th Ave. NW., • Seattle WA 98107 Tel: 206-789-3880 • 1-800-762-0165 • Fax: 206-782-5455 Information and dimensions subject to change without notice.
