SEA TEC QUICK RELEASE RESCUE TOW LINE Tow Line for Sea/Tour Kayaking This sleek, compact tow line unfolds to make a large wide-mouth bag that is easy to re-stuff in rough water conditions. It can be used as a waist held system or quickly converted to a deck mounted system. INSTRUCTIONS: Towing from the waist Open the bag and remove the stainless steel carabiner and float. Hook the carabiner to the perimeter lines of the boat you plan to tow. Towing from your deck This option requires you to install a jam cleat and fixed eye (not included) to the back of your deck. Check with your boat’s manufacturer for proper mounting instructions. Remove the carabineer and float from the bag, roll up the bag. Remove the short length of rope from the outside pouch, now fold up the belt portion and secure it inside the pouch. Secure the bag under a bungee deck line. Take the short length of rope, thread the end through the fixed eye and anchor it to the jam cleat. Attach the carabineer to the grab loop of the boat you wish to tow. Releasing the tow In the event that you wish to disengage the tow from your waist, release the cam buckle on the belt. For deck mounted tows, release the end of the rope from the jam cleat and allow the system to pull away. Re-packing the Bag After a rescue if you are rushed, you can simply bunch up the rope, shove it into the bag and close the flap. This will get the rope out of your way. Once you are on shore or in calm conditions you can re-stuff the bag to ensure quick deployment for the next rescue. To do this, simply feed the rope in at random like a throw bag. Place the float inside the bag, and roll the bag up. Or, if you would like quicker access to the carabiner, place it outside the bag attached to the D-ring. You can either roll up the bag or keep it un-rolled. Care Instructions Clean salt, sand and grit after use with fresh water Do not store the product in damp conditions Inspect the product for damage both before and after use Do not abuse or apply undue stress to the product Periodically coat the carabiner with silicone or lithium based lubricant Do not expose the product to long hours of direct sunlight Identify your name on the product in case of loss Caution This product has been designed to enhance your paddling experience, but remember that, as with any other piece of equipment used in a water environment, it has its limitations, restrictions and potential dangers.
