Datasheet DWA

Product catalog summary
Scope of Application: The DWA rotary position sensors are robust, maintenance-free devices used primarily in shipbuilding and machinery engineering to convert mechanical rotation angles into electrical signals, such as for measuring rudder angles or adjusting pitch.
Measuring Principle: The sensor connects to a double sensor, allowing electronic acquisition of angle positions from 10° to 320° in 10° steps. It features a 360° rotation angle without mechanical limitation and provides a passive electrical signal through an ohmic resistor connection.
Special Features:
  • 360° rotation without mechanical limitation
  • Easy mechanical adjustment of reference positions
  • Maintenance-free operation
  • No reference run necessary
  • Potential-separated channels
Technical Data:
  • Measuring range: 10° to 320° in 10° steps
  • Output signal: 0 to 2 kΩ
  • Operating temperature: -40 to 70 °C
  • Protection class: IP66 (IP68 on request)
  • Electrical connection: Terminals or fixed connection cables
  • Service life: Over 5 million revolutions
  • Approvals: CE, ABS, BV, DNV-GL, MED
Design and Connection: Two designs are available: Design 1 with terminals and Design 2 with fixed connection cables. The wiring diagrams provide detailed connection instructions.
Type Code: The type code structure allows customization of rotation angles and design specifications. Special solutions can be developed if standard types do not meet requirements.

Datasheet DWA-1

Rotary position sensor with ohmic signal output NOR/S Measuring principle Rotary position sensor DWA Scope of application The type DWA rotary position sensors are robust, maintenance-free sensors that are particularly used in the Shipbuilding industry and machinery and plant engineering industry to convert the mechanical rotation angle of a shaft into an electrical signal (e.g. for measuring the rudder angle or adjusting the pitch). Measuring principle The instrument shaft is connected to a double sensor. Depending on requirements, the angle position that can be acquired electronically (10° ... 320° in 10° steps (linear acquisition angle)) must be selected and adjusted within a mechanical revolution (using a round bracket for mechanically adjusting a freely selectable reference position). The version with ohmic resistor connection provides a passive electrical signal. Special features • 360° rotation angle without mechanical limitation • Reference positions easy to adjust mechanically • Maintenance-free operation • No reference run necessary • Potential-separated channels Datasheet DB-DWA-EN | V01.04 | 27/06/2017 | Valid from product revision C | www.noris-group.com | [email protected]
